Ask anyone who has done this and they will tell you it was the most amazing experience of their life…including myself. When you arrive you will go though a 30 minute instructional class before you and your instructor get geared up. One of Chicagoland Skydiving Center's friendly, professional instructors will guide you through the whole jump, from exiting the plane, freefalling, to piloting the canopy and landing. Since you're in front of the instructor with your own altimeter and ripcord, it feels like you're skydiving on your own.
Challenge your courage as you step out into thin air and freefall for 60 seconds hitting speeds of up to 150 MPH!! You will then deploy your parachute at 5,500 feet and enjoy an amazing 5-7 minute canopy flight as you make your decent back down to earth.
This was the best experience EVER. Really, seriously. I had always wanted to go skydiving, decided to do it. The place is really great. There are couches to relax on while you wait. The entire experience makes me want to quit my job and be a skydiving hippie. The jump was from 14,000 feet so there's 60 seconds of free-fall with a 5 min parachute to the ground. My friend was all about it while I was so nervous I had tourette's. I kept throwing out inappropriate comments about crapping my pants (kinda wish I'd kept them to myself) but hey.
My photo guy was Dave. He was nice and told me what he was going to do did a little interview with me on the ground and then in the air climbed out of the side of the plane and jumped right out after me. My tandem guy was Eric. super sweet. I really didn't feel like he was going to let me die. Everyone was really nice and super cool even though I was spouting out inappropriate things etc. BEST experience of my life. I immediately signed up for another tandem jump two weeks later.
